For the month of July 2023, Sophie Naylor stayed at Sachaqa in San Roque De Cumbaza, Peru in the Amazon rainforest for an artist residency. During her stay, she experimented with new painting styles and learned how to make natural pigments from the earth and river rocks in the jungle.
For the month of November of 2023, Sophie traveled to Naples, Italy for her second artist residency of the year. Here she discovered her fascination with Ancient Greek and Roman mythology, as well as the catholic iconography which was found in every nook and cranny of the lively city.
